Money laundering (AML) is the act of hiding illicitly obtained money so that its origin seems legitimate. Capitalia Limited is regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission and we abide by strict laws, which stipulate that getting involved or knowingly engaging in activities remotely linked to money laundering is illegal for us or for any of our employees or agents. Our anti-money laundering policies ensure investor protection, secure payment processes and customer safety services.
The first security measure against money laundering is the advanced check known as “know your customer” (KYC). We require the following documentation to ensure that it complies with the standard regulations against money laundering:
Please note that the regulatory requirements differ in certain countries and that we may request more information and documentation about you.
We do not accept payments from third parties. All deposits must be made in your name and must match the documents submitted according to the KYC procedure. Due to regulatory policies against money laundering, all money withdrawn must be returned to exactly the same source from which it was received. This means that, before a withdrawal request, the money originally deposited by bank transfer will be returned to the same account. Similarly, if you made a deposit by credit card and submitted a withdrawal request, the funds will be returned to the same credit card.
We do not accept cash deposits or cash payments in any case when withdrawal requests are submitted.
The anti-money laundering regulations require us to monitor and track suspicious transactions, as well as to report these activities to the relevant compliance agencies (Vanuatu Securities Commission). We also reserve the right to refuse a transfer at any time if we believe that it is linked in some way to criminal activities or money laundering. The law prohibits us from informing clients about those reports sent to compliance agencies in relation to suspicious activities.
